Peter Fraser Marriage Celebrant Canberra

RATES & SERVICES

Most of the time people underestimate and under value the importance of a good celebrant. The first thing to remember about getting married is that with out a celebrant there is no wedding!

There are several steps that need to be completed before your big day and all of these need to be taken into consideration when choosing your Celebrant because service and value for money are very important. My rates and services are listed below

MAKING A BOOKING

The first step to creating your beautiful day is to call me and make a time to meet me in person. It is at this first meeting that you will most likely have decided whether you are going to book your Ceremony with me or another celebrant. Should you wish to proceed, you will sign a 'statement of booking' form at this appointment.

Following this, you will make a second appointment where you will be provided with an information pack that will contain all the information that you are going to need in order to get married. I have collated all the legal forms and additional information for you so.  It is at this second appointment that you will need to pay your deposit of half of the service fee.

The deposit is required to secure your chosen wedding date and time as Celebrants can be booked out more than a year in advance so securing your celebrant should be the first thing you do next to choosing your wedding date.

It is also at your second meeting that you will receive drafts of different ceremonies & readings which will also include your ceremony template. This shows you the legal parts of the ceremony that MUST be included in all services. It is in this document that you can add all your favourite ceremony parts to create the personal and intimate ceremony that you have always wanted. You can also add poems, verses, readings and song choices if you wish, ensuring that you comply with all copyright acts.

At your third appointment, you will need to return all of the forms you were given and we will discuss any changes along the way. Remember, the Notice Of Intended Marriage form must be received by me no less that one month and 1 day prior to your ceremony.

Lastly, I will meet with you for the ceremony rehearsal exactly 1 week prior to your wedding day, at the location of the service and at the same time your service will be held. You should have the people included in your ceremony there, such as the full bridal party, any parents involved in the ceremony, and those that will be doing a reading. Your photographer may also wish to attend if this is included in your photo package.  This will help me identify where you are seating guests and, if you are having an outdoor ceremony, determine where the sun will be positioned. The last thing you want is to have you or your guests facing the sun during the service or finding that those stairs that look so beautiful in the brochure are a tactical nightmare in high heels!

Once I have conducted your service, you will receive a copy of your signed decorative marriage certificate from the Attorney Generals Department. You will also be required to obtain your legal marriage certificate from Births, Deaths and Marriages.

It doesn't matter whether your wedding budget is $5000 or $50,000 you must always remember: Without a Celebrant, there is no wedding!

During the course of your search you will find many celebrants and many very varied prices. When choosing your celebrant, always remember that this is your wedding day. A day that you will never forget and the most important day of your life.
